colored candy

I love this idea of color coded candy (from martha). I am thinking of doing something similar with all yellow candies. Have any good yellow candy ideas? So far I thought of old fashioned lemon drops, butterscotch, yellow butter-mints and thin mints, rock candy, and lemon jelly beans. Yummers. I also designed a silk screen of a bird on a branch that I can print onto little clear bags. The bowl of pins is also sweet and we could use all sewing pins that I already have with the yellow ball tops.

feathers

I really want to incorporate feathers into the wedding somehow to go along with the bird theme, but I am having a really hard time finding feathers that are cruelty free. I just love the guinea feathers with the polka dot pattern and I saw a cute idea for place cards by setting a feather at each table setting with a little name tied to the end. Also, I think they would look adorable mixed in with a bouquet or used as boutonnieres (which is so stylish right now). Why are there no companies that sell nicely harvested feathers!

possible venues

As you may know, we are getting married in Texas and we are researching possible venues that are close to Austin (where we met). Here is the list we have compiled so far:

our color palette!

We have chosen our color palette. I am thinking all shades of yellows, whites, and browns. I think these will be fun to work with and will compliment a summer evening nicely.

twigs & honey

I love this new etsy company, Twigs & Honey. Myra could not be nicer. She is such a pleasure to talk to and her hair embellishments are purely divine!
