inspiration * world traveler

Hello, destination wedding! I wish I could style travel-themed wedding because the possibilities are endless. The luggage tag escort cards could also double as favors (just type or handwrite the name and table number of each guest and slip it inside). Other travel-savvy favors could include maps and travel guides for the location or mini travel candles. Maps would make amazing backdrops for a fun photo shoot or even table coverings. I am also swooning over the passport save the date paired with the boarding pass invitation...so cute! You could even make a fondant suitcase or airplane groomscake :)

The color palette could be vintage map colors like pale turquoise, khaki and ivory.

burlap goodness

Triangle banners are becoming increasing popular & the Etsy seller Funkyshique makes them the best. The burlap is perfectly shabby chic & for around $24 bucks, these are a steal.

Mountain Love

I fell in love with this wedding featured on Etsy. The backdrop is undeniably beautiful & almost everything used was purchased on Etsy... go handmade!

All that shimmers

What says "celebration" more than the color gold? Glitter, confetti and metallic balloons are the perfect combo for a glitzy wedding.

etsy: style garden

These handcrafted, up-cycled cake stands are purely charming. The vintage dishware makes each piece special and I love the mix of solids with prints. What a clever idea! How cute would it be to have these display little deserts at a backyard wedding?
Prices vary, but most are around $32

travel registry

My friends that are getting married in February are taking a bike tour through Italy for their honeymoon and they are using this website, travel's joy for their registry. How did I not know about this website we we got married?? It is absolutely amazing! Rather than getting a lot of stuff you have no room to store, your guests can contribute to your honeymoon (without just giving cash)! The website has everything, from bike rentals and guidebooks to romantic dinners, so you can pick your favorite activity.

invitations: Ello There Print Shop

I have fallen in love with Ello There Print Shop. Their save-the-dates and invitations are uniquely clean and creative and printed on a wind powered printing press! How cool is that? I also like that they are open to selling the digital image of your invitation (so you can print them locally).

PS. The EP record invite is amazing (last image)

a western wedding

Being from Texas, I hold the below inspiration board close to my heart. I love the idea of a rustic wedding: laid back, warm texas sunsets, country music, and iced tea.

How to obtain this look:

* wear cowboy boots under your dress (or have your bridesmaids & groomsmen wear them)

* don't be afraid to mix elegant & rustic elements (lace tablecloths with dirt at your feet)

*don't stick to only traditional wedding flowers (try adding succulents, cacti, wildflowers, etc.)

*serve comfort food, I know my family loves BBQ (you could even ask people to contribute home made sweets for an eclectic desert table)

*make the soundtrack consist of old-time bluegrass or classic country (try willie nelson + hank williams)

* choose a un-refined setting, like an old barn, ranch, or a backyard with lots of space for tables and dancing

* mason jars are a perfect element to include for a western wedding (buy them here or get them for free if you eat a lot of jam :) If you want to use them as candle holders, the below image is sweet (with the raffia bow detail). You can also loop wire around the top and hang them from tree branches for an evening outdoor wedding. In addition, mason jars can make charming flower vases (think short-cut wildflowers) and rustic drinking glasses (lemonade anyone?). You can also fill them with baked goods for your guests to take home. The possibilities are endless. I mean, look at the adorable mason jar save-the-date in the inspiration board!

* serve drinks from oversized wooden crates or steel wash tubs (if you choose wood, make sure to put down a waterproof lining to prevent leaking) A smaller version could also be cute to hold programs or favors.
